The Paper Table
A Workshop Series by My Song

My Song began with a simple realization: many of the things I create already have a song attached to them.

For as long as I can remember, I've experienced life through stories, music, and connection. Certain songs seem to find me at exactly the right moment, becoming forever tied to seasons of my life, places I've been, people I've loved, and things I've created.

Over time, I began to realize that almost everything I make carries a soundtrack. My creative endeavours and music have always gone hand in hand. Sometimes a song inspires the work. Sometimes it reflects where I am in life. Often it becomes part of the memory itself.

My Song is simply my way of describing that experience.

The Paper Table is one expression of My Song.

My love of paper began early. I wrote my first letter to a summer friend in Quebec when I was about eight years old and still have both that very first letter and a piece of the stationery it was written on tucked safely away. In fact, I have every letter I've ever received.

I've always collected pens, paper, notebooks, and inks, drawn to the comfort of putting pen to paper and the feel of a really good writing pen in hand.

Thirty years ago, I worked in a paper shop in Lunenburg where I helped host paper workshops and discovered how much I loved gathering around a table to create. Years later, I began hosting workshops of my own while continuing to weave creativity into everyday life through lettering, handmade pieces, and creative work for local spaces.

These days, that lifelong love of paper and creativity has found its way back into my life through a beautiful fibre art studio in Mahone Bay, where The Paper Table workshops are now being offered.

The Paper Table is a welcoming space for paper arts, creativity, conversation, and meaningful gathering. A place to slow down, create with your hands, and spend time around a table with others.

Because while making may be the reason we gather,
connection is the point.
